I recently just started playing Mass Effect 2, and I'm extremely interested in playing my first Mass Effect 2 play-through on Insanity. Thing is, I've been told by numerous people that it's extremely difficult. I'm a seasoned Mass Effect veteran -- I beat the original Mass Effect numerous times on Insanity, but now I feel like it's an entirely different monster this time around.
Is it really that different? Is it really that hard? Do I know what I'm getting myself into?Is Mass Effect 2 really that hard to beat on Insanity?
Ah, I was in your shoes when I first played ME2. I too played ME like it was my life, to the point where insanity was a pushover on that game.
I'll tell you now, while similar in structure, ME2 has taken notes from Gears of War and has put emphasis on cover and tactics. Basically, you can't just go biotic crazy and use your infinite ammo weapons on weak enemies. You must chose your skills, as well as your partners skills, strategically for hope of success. It is tough, especially on the early levels, but once you get your bearings it will be a manageable challenge. I say go for it!Is Mass Effect 2 really that hard to beat on Insanity?
Be prepared to lose health quickly. Enemies are more in-your-face, so must move from cover to cover, even if you're hurt. A few seconds out of cover will demolish your shields and really bring your health down, so you really have to think about where and when you take cover. It's hard, but rewarding when you beat something. Is Mass Effect 2 really that hard to beat on Insanity?
you've played through ME2 before? i'm assuming so.....i'm in the middle of my first play through on insanity....your foes are better armored, they use powers more and are more attacking in nature....
i've found that you need to be more cognizant of what teammates you take with you (what powers they have) and be more strategic in your battles
