In mass effect 2, can any of the characters from ME1 join your squad?

I've just started playing Mass Effect 2. I was wondering if, throughout the course of the game, any characters from the first game join your squad.In mass effect 2, can any of the characters from ME1 join your squad?

On omega, the guy names "archangel" that joins your team is really garrus vakarian from the first game.

Also, later on in the game, you get Tali to join your squad again!

Tali and Garrus can join your squad. You may also encounter the other squad members who survived from ME1 during the course of your game, but they won't join you.
Nope. You get a completely new team.
