If i buy Mass Effect on Origin and Mass Effect 2 on Steam, when i start #2 well it transfer the save file?

I bought the first one on origin but then i checked steam and they had the 2nd one cheap, I read that Mass Effect 2 takes the choices you made in the first game into the sequel, so if i bought the second one on Steam, would it still be able to take the first games save file?If i buy Mass Effect on Origin and Mass Effect 2 on Steam, when i start #2 well it transfer the save file?
