Can I restart my mass effect 2 playthrough if I chose to continue the game?

I finished Mass effect 2 on PC, then I got the screen that asked me if i wanted to continue the game or restart a 2nd playthrough with all my gear and level. I chose to continue the game to finish a few side quests but now I want to know if it is possible to restart a new playthrough while keeping my level and gear? If so how?Can I restart my mass effect 2 playthrough if I chose to continue the game?
You can and if you star a New Game The following are carried over when you start a New Game



- Your class, level, appearance, name, gender

- Your weapons and heavy weapons

- Standard weapons for squad members, but no "unique" weapon

- Shepard's powers including his bonus power if he had one

- Advanced weapon training for Shepard if he had advanced weapon training



What does not carry over ?



Everything else, but here are some specific things that do not carry over

- Paragon/Renegade standing

- Research and Upgrades (but you get to keep your weapons)

- Choices made in ME2

- Cash and resources (but you get some cash and resources as a bonus)

- Armor (but you will have access to any pre-order or DLC armor)

4. "Choose which save you wish to start the game over from"

Yes, you can still continue the game, and then at a later point choose to use that character as the basis for a second play through. You won't be able to keep your upgrades that you've made, or the cash and resources though. But you will keep the basic armor and weapons you've acquired (though you won't be able to use the weapons till you get to the first weapon station on the Normandy after the first Human Colony Investigation). You will also get a large amount of money and a huge amount of each resource to get you started on the second play through.Can I restart my mass effect 2 playthrough if I chose to continue the game?
When you begin a new ME2 game, you can import a ME2 character that will allow you to keep all your stats and gear.
