in ME3 there is an interactive backstory i think that weill let oyu make all the impirtant deiccions of ME2 and ME1 without playing the game but to fuly have the experience and to unlock some extra missions or stuff you should play ME2 its astusally a really good game
Not really,no. You don't need to. All that it will do (as said) will give you the option to import your previously created character from the last game into Mass effect 3. I say you give Mass Effect 2 a try though because it's deffinitly different than Mass Effect 1 so to be able to play Mass Effect 3 with experince of its controler layout would probably be helpfull. I think bringing in your previously saved character from another game is really cool though. So, No you do not have to play Mass Effect 2 before Mass Effect 3 but if you wish to understand the storyline a little better you should. Or you could just look up the story lines for the games on Wikipedia.Do i need to play mass effect 2 before 3?
Because even tho I'm sure at 3 it sum's up what happened in the previous Mass Effect's I strongly recommend it, your character carries over from Mass Effect 1 %26amp; 2. If you don't do this is Mass effect 3 some character's from previous Mass Effect game's will not appear. It also carries over your Paragon or Renegade. This is a very important role (in my opinion) in this game. It let's you select certain dialogue that wouldn't be available if you haven't play Mass Effect 1 or 2
Why the heck would you even bother with the third installment of a game without playing the first two? Mass Effect is not a mindless shooter like Battlefield or Call of Duty. it's an interactive story with choice and an array of characters that you need to know before understanding what ME3 will be about.
ME2 is one of the most fun games I have ever played, and totally worth playing in preparation for ME3. If anything, importing a character from ME2 will make an achievement much easier to reach, as well as starting off your character with bonuses that a non-imported character will not.Do i need to play mass effect 2 before 3?
If you create a ME2 character, you'll be able to completely carry over your entire storyline, items, powers, and gameplay/story decisions into ME3, which will shape how the third game proceeds in a major, major way.
You don't have to. Mass effect 2 and 1 are very boring compared to mass effect 3 so just start from there.
Trust me unless you love mass effect you will not be able to play the first one... ohhh man...
no but you should
