Mass Effect 2: What if i import a vanguard and play as sentinel?

I have a level 57 vanguard from mass effect 1 and i was wondering if i could import it mass effect 2 and play as a sentinel instead. Is there any down side to changing the classes and not being a vanguard?Mass Effect 2: What if i import a vanguard and play as sentinel?
Not at all, you start from level 1 in Mass Effect 2 no matter which class you chose to play as. if you can you might want to get your vanguard to 60 before you import though, I think the bonus exp you receive will be higher.Mass Effect 2: What if i import a vanguard and play as sentinel?
you can choose any class you want even when you do import previous saved games. very convenient
